National Agriculture Day
Today, November 21st is National Agriculture Day.
Australia will celebrate the remarkable contributions of Australian agriculture. Each Australian farmer provides 600 people with food and fiber, 400 of those people live overseas. The 2018 theme is #GrowforGood the meaning behind it all shows how agriculture can come together as a country in times of hardship and in times of joy. Last year, Australian farms surpassed $60 billion in farm gate income. The National Farmers’ Federation has the vision to grow this figure to $100 billion by 2030. Agriculture supports 1.6 million jobs from the city to the bush, in areas like retail, logistics, processing and many more.
Agriculture makes the world a little bit better every day by improving the health of our communities and our planet.
